This issue features the final presentation from several participants of TELP. We are pleased to introduce Kimberley Grimwood, a graduate of TELP 2023. We asked her a few questions to give you a sense of what ideas you might find in her presentation. Enjoy!
Q1: Within the context of your presentation and the learning you have done since then, please choose a verb and finish this sentence:
KG: I used to think structures were rigid and now I know they are not.
Q2: Please finish this thought: After watching my presentation, I invite the viewer to…
KG: Think about what structure (i.e.: schools are always closed in the summer) they take for granted as being inflexible and how you can think about ways to smooth their edges or transform them for the benefit of students.
Q3: Please finish this thought: The thing about collaborative, professional inquiry is…
KG: There is always someone there when you are stuck. As a single administrator in my building, I often feel that it all falls to me. I have learned through collaborative, professional inquiry that it is not the case at all and if you surround yourself with a team, and seek them out, you will become a stronger, more effective leader. It requires vulnerability to ask for help, but it is worth it.
Q4: Is there anything you’d like to add?
KG: Please feel free to reach out to me if you have suggestions or would like to talk about this project further.
