Program Overview
The Transformative Educational Leadership Program (TELP) is ideal for individuals in a Canadian or international K-12 system and other connected sectors, who are interested in system transformation. This cohort-based program is for highly-motivated individuals who want to expand their world-view, gain new experiences and raise their professional credentials to new levels.
This program provides participants with relevant and in-depth interaction alongside innovative researchers, practitioners, and world-class scholars, at an internationally respected university. Participants will develop the capacity to transform themselves and their communities by exploring and engaging in dialogue and debate about major challenges and opportunities facing school districts – expand your worldview with TELP!
For 2024/2025, TELP will be held fully online, with synchronous and asynchronous learning throughout the year. The TELP cohort will meet online synchronously 6 times throughout the year between October and July. Between synchronous sessions, participants will engage in asynchronous online learning throughout the program, as well as work in small groups in real-time with a TELP alumni facilitator. This approach provides outstanding opportunities for interaction and collaboration between participants across the program, and between TELP cohorts. Participants will address individual and group challenges of system change through the application of an innovation and inquiry framework, coaching opportunities, and access to global thinkers.
Key Themes
The TELP program will provide participants with the opportunity to engage and explore new knowledge around central and emerging key themes, including:
- International and local perspectives on system change.
- Managing and leading through simplicity and complexity.
- Creating cultures of deep learning and innovative practice.
- Exploring Indigenous world-views.
- Leading professional learning for adaptive expertise and system change.
- Innovative learning environments – learning with and from other systems.
Upon completion of the program, participants may wish to consider applying their TELP experiences in a doctoral program. Many TELP alumni have gone on to doctoral programs across Canada and internationally.
